    tire wear
I would like to know when a scorcher tire needs to be changed because of wear. There are no wear bars, and there is no tread in the middle of the tire to measure. I have checked with several dealers with no one able to give me more then a guess on wear. When I had the tires changed the last time there was a wide area in the middle of the tire that had no tread. In the past my other sportster came with Dunlop tires which I had no issues with. As you can see, I am not happy with these tires because of this problem. I am not an aggressive rider. I just want a tire with tread in the middle that I can measure wear. I am 79 and this may be my last bike, however I would like to have tires that I am comfortable with. I ride around 10,000 miles a year. Thank you. read more.

Tire caused vibration when goig around curves
The rear Scorcher on my 2012 FXDC always had a vibration when going around a curve at any lean angle, right or left. this went on for 15K. The tire wore well and was still usable at 15K. The vib. had to be in the tire itself and quit when I installed a 401 Dunlop

    • The tires that came on my 883 sportster superlow was a bad choice for Harley to make. There is no way that a superlow can utilize the sport tires that came on it. The first place the bike has a very poor lean angle, and the millage on the tires when they needed to be changed was 10,000. I have always used Dunlap tires on the bikes that I have owned, and I have always gotten over 20,000 miles. I only hope that next year when I will need another set that Dunlap will make a tire for this one of a kind crap that Harley and Michelin.put together. From a 79 year old rider.

    WORST. TIRE. EVER.
This tire has little grip. Anywhere above 50 MPH and the bike slides sideways. When it rains it has even less grip. It makes me change my intended route just to avoid rain. Michelin's Pilot Road 3 tires are highly recommended by touring bike owners. I was thinking the Road 3 might be a good replacement tire. Maybe I can get the Pilot Road 4 if they make those in 120/70ZR18 for the front. read more.

    Very poor wear
I had cupping at less than 2k miles. Had to replace at 4700 miles. There are no other choices for this bike, 11 superlow, any where. Very poor business decision to put one manufacturer tire only and odd size... It guarantees you return to the dealership to repeatedly buy a substandard tire for entirely too much. read more.

    • I was looking at my rear tire 150/60zr17 scorcher by Michilin, and I discovered that after 11,000 miles the tire had worn down to the cord. I have tried to find a tire like the ones on my 2008 sportster which gave me over 20,000 miles of service, of course they were Dunlops. Why sport tires were put on an 883 sportster is beyond me. I have 22,000 miles on it and this will be my second set of tires. I am sure that the dealer will tell me that I also need a new front tire. With no tread in the middle of the tire, how can you tell that it is ready for a change. In closing, I am extremely disappointed in these tires. Being 80, I am not an aggressive rider.

    • I have looked everywhere to find out on the scorcher tires how wide is the flat spot on tires before they need to be changed. My riding is in the mid-west consequently the tires only wear flat on the diameter. If you can help me with this information I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

    • I will be trying out BRIDGESTONE 150/60ZR17 BATTLAX S20 REAR TIRE . Also using Bridgestone Battlax BT-020 120/70R18 Front Tire. I will post later to let everyone know how then both handle.

    • Yes their is a tire you can use for 2011 sportster other than Michelin 17 in. Rear - 150/60ZR17. I have been using Dunlop K591 160/70B-17 and I love this tire. All you need to do is look at the specs on your rim and see what it will fit. Not all tires that are listed will say it will not fit just find the spec of the tire and see if it matches your rim.
