Frequently Asked Questions
Submit your contact information and details about your bike – including photos – here. This info is sent to the dealer(s) you choose, who reviews the information and then communicates an offer via email or phone call. Then it’s up to you and the dealer how to proceed.
No. Submitting your bike information does not guarantee an offer from a dealer.
You are under no obligation to accept the offer from the dealer; most dealers are open to negotiation.
Yes. You can choose any dealer in our network.
Dealer response times can vary. If you do not hear from a dealer in two business days, we would recommend calling the dealer. If you do not hear back in a timely manner, you can also submit the request again and choose a different dealer.
There is no limit per person on our listings. However, marketplace listings are reserved for private-party Harley-Davidson® and LiveWire™ owners.
A listing on the HD-1™ Marketplace costs just $7.50 per month. This fee renews each month until you remove your listing.
No, just your city and state. If a buyer is interested, you’ll receive an email with their contact information. You and the buyer then take it from there.
Yes. Eaglemark Savings Bank, a subsidiary of Harley-Davidson® Financial Services, offers Rider-to-Rider financing for private party sales, facilitated by participating dealers. Learn more about Rider-to-Rider financing here.
From Harley-Davidson.com, navigate to the H-D1™ Marketplace and then Manage My Listings. Once you sign-in, choose the listing you want to manage. There, you can edit your listing, change photos or remove your listing (hopefully because you sold your bike!).
When a buyer indicates their interest, we send you their name and contact information. After that first contact, communication is up to the buyer and seller.
That’s between you and the buyer. We recommend a very public place where you will feel safe, such as a Harley-Davidson® dealership. Some police stations encourage these types of transactions on their premises.
Yes, we review each listing before publishing, which can take up to 2 business days. We check the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to ensure the bike is not reported stolen, then review photos and text to ensure there’s no profanity, nudity, or other inappropriate content. Finally, we check that the bike is being sold by a private-party, not dealership.

You send us key information about your motorcycle here, including model, VIN, color and more. Once you submit the required information you will received an instant value estimate from our third-party partner, NPA. A dealer may also reach out to help fine-tune the value and discuss your options.
You immediately receive a value range for your motorcycle from our third-party partner, NPA, based on the your bike criteria matched to current motorcycle values at auction. But since motorcycle values can vary widely based on demand, customization and condition, a dealer expert will also review your information and contact you with a more precise value.
No, we do not guarantee a value. But we are confident both the instant NPA valuation and expert dealer estimate will be fair and appropriate, and a good starting point for sales and trade-in negotiations.
