This product does not come pre painted so it must be painted by a third party. I purchased denim black paint for my ‘17 Road Glide Special with the denim black clear coat and activator per the parts manual. This paint sceme does not have paint instructions. Only basic activator ratio instructions on the can. Ok, All Harley parts and paint applied by a professional with over 30 years experience and it did not match. Harley says it’s the painter’s fault and the painter says the paint just does not match and it’s Harley's fault. Right parts, correct paint and expert painter but bad match. I say it’s Harley’s fault but to my surprise, Harley, and except for my dealer who agrees with me, has done everything it could to not back its paint. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! Between the fender kit, all the paint products and painting, I am out about $1,500, with no recourse. I am so dissipointed in Harley. Over 200,000 miles on 12 bikes. Maybe another brand is in the future. :)
P.S. The kit also came missing the tail light assemblies but my dealer took care of that.

The parts come with an E-coat not an actual base primer. Also depending on your painter’s equipment and technique the color can differ due to humidity, temperature, color of primer, and base materials like going from ABS plastic to steel.- San Antonio, Tx8/27/2023

I get that you're mad, but a good painter would be able to match your bike. I know my guy can. I bought an aftermarket fender and he matched the color and flame pattern to the point that people think it came from HD that way.11/17/2021

The company says the painter didn't use the correct primer but the disruption says it's already primed. Thus, no additional primer needed.- Castalian Springs, TN3/25/2020

The superseded kit does not come with the lights anymore. Your dealer should have told you that, and your "expert" painter probably didn't use the primer (P/N 98628G) that Harley specifically says to use on all painted parts, regardless of the condition of the parts from the factory (bare metal, gel coat. prime).read more.- Oakland, California2/6/2019

FEATURED REVIEW4/27/2014Not Plug n Play on '14 FLHX/SI hope I get to update this when I figure it out... Been working 2 days now to figure out how to get the lights to work! Wiring on CVO kit was different than the bikes wiring. I can get the lights to come on by wiring directly to battery but the wiring harness seems to be wired completely different. Seems like they just sold a basic CVO kit when the '14 models are wired differently. I hope Harley reads this and sends me the right way to fix this so I can update this post and enjoy my $1000 purchase! Harley you can contact me. read more.
