Put them on and the one by the pipes or left side of the bike came loose and fell off and got stuck between the muffler and transmission cover. I had blue loctite on the screw and it was tight. Needs another set screw to secure it. There goes $50.00 to the trash can. Very poor design.

    Before You Buy, Know This
The covers have the same flaw as the front axel nut covers. Once you install the covers the special headless allen key screws will strip out if you need to remove them or if the loosen up and you need to tighten them up. There is some kind of HD locktite and the inside of the allen head is just too weak and strips right out. The only option is to try to get a replacement or drill it out and re-tap. I ended up going to my local hardware store and getting some stainless steel replacement screws when I reinstalled. I strongly suggest anyone considering to put these on your Softail consider buying betters screws before the install and same yourself some aggravation. read more.
