I have Always bought OEM brake parts, but my local Harley shop doesn’t really carry much inventory so I went only and bought some aftermarket pads…big mistake. I will not say the company that made the pads but it is a well known brand if you’ve been riding for any length of time. The hole was not tapped correctly on the back of brake disc and the screw was cheaply made so I was unable to install the brakes without some hole tapping on my part and even then do I trust the discs to be of good quality, no. So, I ordered from the motor company, no issues, I just had to wait a couple days for them to be shipped. A lesson learned. read more.

    Good brake pads
Well the stationary pad had to be tapped before I could install. No mention of this in the instructions that came with the pads. A bit of a surprise considering they cost 70 bucks. But I'm sure they'll last a while. Hardly any brake dust.

    • I found this to be a problem too!!! I'll try the torque trick.

    • The little screw will tap itself into the brake as you torque it in properly. The pre-drilled hole is tapered for this and so is the original screw.

Are there 4 pads included in this set, or would two sets need to be purchased to do both calipers?
    tr_combs - Hanover, IN
    • Answer:
Recently ordered a "set" for a 92 Classic, which has two disc brakes on the front wheel. What a set consists of is one pair of pads. To install, what I would consider a set for this bike or any bike with dual disc brakes on the front wheel you must order 2 "sets" .
