Since I want my Tour-Pak to remain mine, I added these locks. Installation was so simple, even a caveman could……well, you know. It didn’t even require removal of the Tour-Pak. I just raised the rear of it up and used a block of wood wrapped in a soft towel to hold it up and swapped out the hardware. Easy as can be!
One interesting note – unlike the stock non-locking hardware, this kit did not contain a right side and a left side. They were identical which means that one must be mounted backwards. All that means is that if you remove your Tour-Pak, you will need to rotate the locks in opposite directions. Since I don’t plan on ever taking the Tour-Pak off, it doesn’t matter to me. But for those that do, it wouldn’t have cost any more to make a right and a left. Or perhaps mine were boxed wrong. Either way, they are on there. But, one star comes off – four instead of five.

I wanted to go chrome so I bought a pair only to find out I can only use one. So I would one black non locking and one chrome locking will return.

A little tough to unlock with the key since the locking mechanism ends up in a tight spot when the cam latches down on the docking hardware. Wish they would be able to key multiple latch kits the same since I have 3 detachables and would like to minimize the amount of keys i need to carry. Been waiting for them to be available so i can purchase another set to split up between my detachable backrest and luggage rack. Glad to see they are back in stock. read more.

Question:10/15/2024I have a Harley Davison 2015 Road King with a passenger backrest and a luggage rack. Will this product fit either or both of these? Do you have to use 2 for the backrest and 2 for the luggage rack, or can I just use 1 one on side ?mark - oak ridge, Tn
