But you have to take it to the dealer to have it married to the ECM. My local dealer wanted 370 to do that and tried to tell me you have to take the rear wheel off to do it. They must not know how to read the shop manual for the bike. You just have to jack it up 2-3 inches and remove one bolt for the forward mud flap and move it down to get access to the BCM. FEATURED REVIEW9/5/2017Peace of mindI bought this security system for peace of mind. I love the fact that it arms automatically as sometime I forget to lock the ignition. Had the dealership install and price of install was not much. Since the fobs had to be programmed, I just let them do the whole job. Looking at what was involved, it is not a difficult install to do yourself, but since the dealership needs to program it's fobs, why bother. read more.

Answer:You can also have your BCM reprogrammed so that you don't need to turn the ignition key on. You only need to flip down the start/run switch. Its called a CVO keyless ignition. Any dealership can do this and many aftermarket shops as well, that's me.

Answer:Kodak, The Smart Security system uses a proximity FOB to disable the security, so there's no "KEY" to insert. As long as the FOB is in your pocket and has a battery installed, your security system will disable when you approach your bike.

Question:8/8/2022I have a 2013 Breakout. I plan on ordering this alarm system. how difficult is it to install? What prevents someone from simply unplugging the "alarm brain" and repluging the normal connections?Musselmann - North Carolina

Answer:Musselmann, The installation instructions are accessible under the details tab on product page. Installation is easy, but the dealer will need to activate the BCM and program the FOBs to the bike, until this is done the bike will not operate. This replaces the BCM in the bike, so you cannot simply unplugging the "alarm brain" and repluging the normal connections, as that would set off the security system. Thanks read more.
