Great bags - pretty easy to install. Directions leave something to be desired when combining with a sissy bar and it was unnecessary to remove the full exhaust.

I just purchased a 2019 Deluxe with 865 miles these bag are already on the bike. Was caught in the rain 1st day picking up the bike, both bags filled with water. Poor design! Now what? Do they make rain covers for them?

    • Pop a hole on the bottom and install a plug that you can simply unplug to drain or leave off. Another option is to use some plastic with an elastic band like an intake sock large enough to cover top of saddlebag.

Good and practical but with issues
Good and practical with useable space, but suspect will not be that water resistant, so will require water proof liners. They are easy to get on and off too. The major down side and issue so far is there is insufficient clearance on left hand bag and the rear fork (Swingarm). On extremely bumpy roads the rear fork has come in contact with the bag lower mount and taken the paint off, the bags were not full or overloaded. I though the issue was the length of the screw protruding out the mount and replaced this with a shorter flush fitting one, but to-day the mount its self took the paint off the rear fork again! I have now spaced out the forward mount to get some more clearance, the left hand side has around half the clearance to the right between the rear fork and the lower support bar. It is not just my bike, my wife has the same bike with the same bags and they also have the same clearance issue. H-D you need to look at this! read more.

    • Was there any solution to this? I just picked up a 2018 Deluxe in great shape and want to do some longer distance riding and really need the bags, but don't want to damage the bike in the process.

    • Update, these bags will not work with rear axel covers as the right cover, the larger one that covers the nut can hit the saddle bag lower support on full travel. Although the fitment and instructions do not mention this, most saddle bag kits do not work with rear axel covers and this one certainly does not, that includes the beauty ring not just a full cover!

  • Question:
    1/14/2023
Is there a part number for the mounting hardware needed when installing with the hold fast docking system? I have the bags but need to hardware to make them detachable.
    Christian012277 - Seattle, WA
    • Answer:
The docking hardware to mount detachable saddlebag kit 90201644, is included with the saddlebags. If you wanted to add a detachable luggage rack or sissy bar then you would need the specific docking kit for those components. Since the saddlebags are called out to fit a 2018 and Later FLD, you would want to use docking hardware kit 52300645 (chrome) or 52300646 (gloss black) read more.
  • Question:
    6/8/2019
Where do I see what hardware is needed for these bags, I don’t know what I need.
    Scott Blaz - Clark, NJ
    • Answer:
Hello Scott Blaz, Fits '18-later FLDE models. Includes all required mounting hardware. You shouldn't need any hardware as it comes with hardware. Thank you, wildonemke

  • Question:
    4/29/2018
What are the dimensions of these bags.  I see the capacity, but what is the length, height, and thickness?
    cpeacor - Arizona
    • Answer:
The deciding factor is the size of the opening which is around 7" by 16", the depth of the bag is around 12". The issue with any type of liner is it has to fit under and around the locking bracket so cannot fill the bag or you will not get it in. Ideally a liner needs to be slanted like the bags around 20" long, 10" height and 5" wide otherwise, if full it will not get in, especially if slightly bulging, you will then have room on top for spare gloves & waterproofs etc. read more.
