That gave enough room to solder the connections nicely on the front. I removed the seat and rear fender and structure to enable the rear wiring to be moved a bit to be soldered the same. Easily done. I now have a current style connector instead of the old round style which in my case were failing. I saw no sense in updating to a push and turn style when the sockets fail eventually anyway. One must be very gentle installing the lamp in the shell. Place the tabs in the correct spot exactly or even a bulldozer will not get it in. Finesse it in gently and it will click in oh so easily. DO NOT force it. I find it to be an improvement to stock. read more.

Since these are 3 wire lights, and you have to cut the original wires anyway, they were perfect for what I wanted to do. I purchased the original style turn signal connector terminals from the dealer and used small three conductor cable. I crimped the terminals onto the three conductor cables and inserted into the plugs at each end. Now it is just like from the factory instead of using the splices that come with the kit. By adding the third wire, the running lights work, and the dealer was able to program the BCM for the brake lights to work. No additional modules needed. The lights are bright, using smoked lenses and they are still brighter than original incandescent turn signals. read more.

The packaging was more than adequate. A box within a box, within a box. After reading install instructions, the wiring went well. The install was easy with a pair of needle-nose pliers. After reconnecting the main fuse, I was excited to see the huge improvement in the running and braking brightness from the tail end. Aside from that, these lights are well-insulated so no more worries about moisture causing a bulb to blow. They look and perform great. They are brighter than stock, which is exactly what I was looking for. I installed them myself on a 2016 Sportster 48. A word of warning, the instructions suck. Hopefully you have some common sense, which you need to install these. You will find there is no extra wire running to the rear lights, so you have no room to cut the existing wires, or install the new lights. Take your seat off, trace the wires up to the plug in connections under the seat. I marked the connections with an L and R so I wouldn't screw that up later. Feed the wire down along the fender and out the turn signal until you are comfortable you have enough to work with. I picked apart the "ground" fastener out of the existing bulb socket just to make sure I had all the wire I could get. From there follow the instructions. The front lights were much easier to get to the wires, although I did have to snip a couple wire ties to free up some extra wire. They perform perfectly fine and you don't have to buy some sort of electrical widget that some other LED lights require. Answer:Don't put any red lights facing front. It is illegal because oncoming traffic may confuse your red lights for taillights. Get the amber version for your front signals.
