Good quality - poor initial torment

Good quality - bad fitment. Seems like a solid piece but a significant amount of metal is required to be cut out for the light board to fit. Dremel or angle grind it out - polish the edges and it’s easy from there.

    Does not fit 2020 FXLRS
Need to make modifications for the bezel to fit with the circuit board. Do not get this part unless you want to cut and shave metal off. Took me two days to figure out fitment while shaving metal off to make it work.

    Poor fit. Broke the bracket

This cast piece replaces the OEM plastic base on the '20 fxlrs. There is a lip on the lower back intended to sit on the edge of the cutout of the rear fender; however, it's not long enough to secure it over time. Additionally, it's extremely heavier than the plastic base it replaces. As a result, this came loose and broke the bracket attached to the inside of the fender intended to secure the tail light assembly to the bike. The damage to the rear fender will require repainting. A different solution for turn signals will have to be pursued. read more.

Item requires grinding away material to allow the circuit board to sit properly and allow re-installation of the light.

  • Question:

How do you connect the stock tail light plug (plugs into a circuit board for a 21' FXLRS) to the main tail light fender harness as they are different plugs and don't connect?
    Allan - CA
    • Answer:
I think they assume you hardwire the brake light or find a harness that works but what I did was without damaging the circuit board, drill it out enough to snap it off and jam it into the stock brake light and just tighten it down. Looks good!
