Quality product. Solid and sturdy. I purchased it for my backrest. It does not work with the backrest. The C shaped latch is straight. Whereas the backrest latch C shaped latch is on an angle.

    • For those looking for the correct part, the locking latch with the angle is part number '52300514'. It is just like this one, but with an angle to the latch hook instead of being straight like this page's part, '52300519'.

Nice product. The description on the website states it'll work with backrest and tourpacks. It definitely does not work with the backrest. The silver C latch is straight on this locking latch. Whereas, the stock backrest latch is angled. Product itself is nice quality.

Can the latch be clocked differently? The angle of the locking latch is a degree or two off from the non locking latch.
    ToddB - Dallas, TX
    • Answer:
Hi ToddB, In order to better assist, it would be important to know which exact motorcycle you are working on, which accessory you are mounting to the bike, and what exactly is occurring when you try to mount it that would require it to rotate 1-2 degrees. If you are using it for its intended application, ('18-later FLHC, FLHCS and FLDE models equipped with HoldFast™ detachable Two-Up Tour-Pak® Mounting Rack.), then I would recommend reaching out to Harley-Davidson customer support for assistance at 1-800-258-2464.
