These Dunlop D427 are sticky wet or dry

They have great traction wet or dry. Just model D427s though. Other Dunlops can be not as good traction but the model 427 for the Fatbob hold well on dry or wet pavement. So don't assume they are like other Dunlop model tires you have had on other Harleys. I like them better than the Michelin Scorcher 32, the scorchers don't stick well even on dry pavement. Only drawback is the front tire version of the D427 do cup quicker than most tires. read more.

No more Dunlops for my Fat Bob
I bought my '14 Fat Bob July 2014, less than two years ago. I have replaced to front tire twice and will have to replace my rear, for the second time, soon. I don't do burnouts or come to a screeching hall. I am averaging 7-8K per tire...pretty crappy considering the price of these things. I currently have about 18K on my bike and will find a new brand for the rear replacement next month. read more.

    No confidence
I've been riding street bikes for about 23 years and Harleys for the past 5 years. I have always changed out my Dunslops for alternate better gripping tires even if it meant less milage. Safety is my number one priority. I recently got a pair of these Dunlops to replace the same ones on a pre owned 2011 Fat Bob I purchased from a dealership. They split the cost of the new tires with me and recommended these stock tires. I thought I would give them a try. Well after about 500 miles I hate them. The only thing I like about them is the look. They put me all over the road and are very wobbly in turns and twists. Maybe it's because the compound is too hard. I will be looking at Avon Cobra's or Metzeler ME 888's very shortly as those are what I run on my other Hogs and love them. The ONLY Dunlops I've had a good experience with recently are Elite III's which I had put on my Honda Goldwing to replace the old worn out stock Dunlops that came on that bike when I got.it pre owned. read more.

  • Question:
    8/20/2013
Is this tire a radial or bias tire?
    Jimbo61 - St. Louis, MO
    • Answer:
Hey Jimbo61, thanks for the question. We both get to learn something new here. The D427 180/70B16 is a bias tire. SO if there's a "B" it's bias and if there's an "R" it'll be a radial.
