Do not buy Harley factory parts

The timing cover didn’t come tapped. It came with self tapping screws. I used hand tools and one of the screws snapped off. Contacted Harley. Said I could not return it. Also said that they don’t just sell the screws and since I cannot get the screws I need to buy a whole new cam cover. The dealership closed in my area and closest is over 1 hour away Now I have a 1/2 tapped hole with 1/2 a screw lodged in it. I bought factory Harley part for twice the price so I didn’t have an issue. But drag specialties !! read more.

Well I bought this to black the bike out but upon installing I noticed the small derby cover that the 5 holes to thread bolts in weren't tapped. So ill be able to tap it but pretty boneheaded mistake by manufacturing

How long does it take to install this? Do i need a mechanic to do it?
    Fotorat - London
    • Answer:
Hello Fotorat! Unfortunately, I am unable to tell you how long it will take for you to install this cam cover. I would say it depends on your experience with bikes. Not every person can replace a motorcycle part within an hour or less; therefore, I will leave this matter in your hands. As far as a mechanic is concerned, if you believe that would be a better route...do so! I highly recommend it. FYI: You may need to change the gasket as well. Thanks! read more.
