Ivy caps became popular in the US in the 19th century. Many of the vintage H-D photos show this style being worn by riders in that era. This popular logo was created by Willie G. Davidson and 1st appeared on the 2000 Daytona Rally tee shirts. It was quickly adopted for uses in apparel, motorcycle parts and accessories. This was part of the longer tradition of Wille G. Davidson designing the Daytona logo for H-D, but this particular graphic resonated with the Harley-Davidson consumer.
