I've tried other oil pans but this one by far works the best seeing as my bike is a bit on the low side

I've read other reviews, and I cannot understand how someone can rate this product less than 5 stars unless they somehow received a defective one. I've used mine for 8 years and 4 bikes with no problems.

    • Had it over a year. Hadn't used it as friends with lifts offered with changes and others done on the road. When full, laid it down in the pickup for recycling the seams leaked. Since it is over a year since purchase no warranty. No more $$ in that store

    Defective Design/Cumbersome/Mess Hazard!
Featured H-D Dealership H-D Employee Sweepstakes Entry Verified Purchaser Top 10 Contributor Top 25 Contributor Top 50 Contributor Top 100 Contributor Top 250 Contributor
This oil drain pain isn't worth consideration whatsoever. The pan comes completely sealed, thus, you can never clean the inside. It's cumbersome and awkward especially when it's full of oil making it a mess hazard, the bad design creates great difficulty for when having to drain it due to its awkward size and shape. After removal of the center screw plug, the center drain hole does not have a screen, this is a must-have as if anything small like screws or bolts get accidentally dropped, they WILL roll down the pan and go inside causing a big mess to retrieve. It needs to have a handle on BOTH sides, this, for better control but mostly so one can hang it upside down to completely drain the pan after each use, by not doing, so you are left with a lot of old, foul-smelling surplus oil still inside the pan that you can not get out. Like on a red plastic gas can, it NEEDS to come with a spout for controlled draining of the used oil flow… read more.

    C'mon Harley!!!!!

I just bought this got it home and took out the orange plugs only to find that the pan does not have and holes..... How is oil supposed to get into the pan with no hole? C'mon Harley, this should be a simple quality control check. Called the dealer, the whole batch is like this. Just gonna take a razor and cut out the opening. For the price of this you would figure you could get oil in it. Proud American try to only buy American made but wow. read more.

    • Same issue on mine. Oil won't go into pan as fast as it's coming out of the bike, so flows over the edge. What junk! Not the usual Harley quality.

    • Found this out just now. A huge mess. Nothing on the packaging says to cut hole. 4 qts all over my shop floor. Always used a cut 4qt oil jug with no failures like this. Not saying I wouldn’t recommend but put something on the label.

    • @Big Red, wrong, its a defective product. To suggest a used one makes no sense. He shouldn't have to ask for quality control that should have been done at the factory, just so he doesn't have to alter the product AFTER he buys it is simple common sense.

    • That is a virgin oil pan. You wouldn’t want one already used.

    The best drain pan

I bought this because I had a hard time finding a drain pan low enough to go under my Harley road glide ultra . I read the reviews about the pan not allowing oils to drain in to pan without over flowing sides of pan , well that’s only on the engine oil so just unscrew oil check stick where you put oil in from top side ( unscrew enough it is just sitting there with out totally removing only holding with a couple thread ) then drop drain plug no more spit or over flow problem fixed . I love this pan it has places to lay drain plugs while draining , nice cap On top side for draining oil when finished , low enough to fit under bike covering all drain holes at the same time , nice carry handle , I hang mine from a hook in the garage when not in use . Has vent holes to allow Oil to drain in , no more dropping drain plugs in to a bucket then fishing them out . Nice long wide surface to drain into . Love this pan highly suggested read more.

    • Purchased oil drain pan and after using it to service my trike I was left asking myself why did I wait so long fits perfectly under bike and can actually drain all 3 holes at once . Long enough to cover the removal of primary main cover . It's great
