It’s designed to instantly deploy in the event of a collision on the chest and central back area. Its cow leather build is also perforated to welcome airflow, has move-with-you side panels, and features reflective branding for enhanced visibility. FEATURED REVIEW6/13/2025Really, Really Nice![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I admit I was kinda shy about purchasing this item at a high price point for me. But I thought of the alternative of not having it and wishing I had. This item was perfection and flawless. True to size as well. Couple of reviews said it was big in front, it has adjustable bands on the side. Said the app was a joke, use the computer to set it up and its done. Control pack is in the lower back but they have padding around it plus its curved so it doesn't bother you. I only imagine these will get better with time. Can't believe we have technology now that can do this. Others have already said it saved them from injuries. Well worth it, thanks for partnering with another company to make an outstanding product! read more

FEATURED REVIEW5/25/2025Sometimes future shock is good for you.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wear this vest every time I ride. Forty plus years ago when I was doing a presentation in my engineering class about air bag restraint systems in cars, I had little notion that decades later I would be wearing a computerized vest with air bags for protection on my motorcycle. It's very good for the important job it does, and the cool light on the chest and the Harley Davidson lettering on the back make up for the fact that it looks a little bit like a flak jacket made for combat. read more

FEATURED REVIEW3/12/2025It saved my life[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hit a deer last Sunday, it was a brutal impact with my Ultra. My bike slide 60 yards, the deer flew 30 and I hit the road hard, ... but I was totally fine, just some soreness and bruises but nothing serious. Leather, full face helmet and the airbag save me from major damage, or worst. The airbag must be mandatory like the helmet. Not sure why people want to link the airbag with their phone here, ... you have to use a computer for the vest. read more

FEATURED REVIEW1/8/2025HD Style + Smart Vest = Smart move[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Safety is paramount and I am always looking for new ways to be safer, which led me to explore smart vests. I looked at several competitors and none matched the look and style of the HD Smart Vest. This is the best-looking Smart Vest (or jacket depending on the manufacturer) on the market, true HD style. Make sure you read the manual, download the software to your computer, and register the vest with Dainese. I could not connect the vest to the Dainese smart app, I tried all the tricks possible. This is the only negative I experienced. Having the app on my phone to monitor battery life, put the vest in transport mode etc., is a convenience but not a requirement for the vest to operate. After charging the battery, connecting the wires in the vest and sitting on my running Road King, the LED indicator turned green indicating the vest was functioning as expected. Fitment of the vest was the same as any vest. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase. read more

FEATURED REVIEW12/23/2024Harley Davidson Men’s Smart Vest[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice vest. Quality seems to be spot on like most of Harley’s jackets. Directions to set up are not the best. Set up directions don’t come from Harley but from Dianese who actually makes the vest. Luckily I was able to find a website that showed where the connections needed to be made, the canister’s can’t be plugged in. Charging port is easily accessible. Other than that, it’s a nice vest. Fits true to size, I wear 2xl jacket and that’s what I ordered. Little pricey but I bought prior to Christmas so saved a little. read more

Question:12/26/2024How do you connect to the vest? I connected the USB cable to my PC but there’s no Windows app to download. I also downloaded the D Air app to my iPhone but it doesn’t connect when I click to add device. What I am doing wrong? Any tips would be helpful.Colin - NY

Answer:Does not connect with Apple products the application does not work - had to go to Dainese store - they setup and registered- took only few minutes- you have to use the charging cable that it came with regular USB-C cable did not work- once setup it’s Great
