Great product but you need an older iPod.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned this product about 2 years and have had issues with it disconnecting while using my iPhone 6s. I plugged in an old Nano and it works just fine with no disconnection issues. I see a few others had the same issue. I'd recommend not buying unless you have access to an old Nano or Touch (a model with a flash drive) with a 30-pin connector. I've had poor sound quality issues with connecting the Classic iPod with other radios so I'd avoid using one with this. If you plan on using something with a lightning connector (or a non-Apple mp3 player) save your money and buy a patch cord to plug it into the front of the radio. read more.

    Works Great
Had this installed this along with the saddlebag mounted iPod holder. After learning how the controls interface, it works great. Everything is secure and out of sight. Keeps the iPod charged also.

    A Little Twitchy
Some handlebar controls are slow. System will not continue a playlist when restarting the bike. I suspect the Lightning Cable adaptor required for the newer IPOD's is the problem.

Seamless interface to your sound system
The interface works great, but it's not nervana until you get used to how the handlebar controls function with it.

The ipod nano 6 in my 2011 FLTRUSE plays 1 second and cuts out - this is a new issue. Checked the ipod, installed a new cable, and had the HK radio refurbished with no luck. Is there an ipod replacement module? Fitment says this item is not compatible.

    • Answer:
Brad, There is a replacement IPOD module, part number 72647-11, this is an OEM part number for the module. Thanks, LeakyShovel73

    iPhone hook up

    • Answer:
I had the same issue. I can only use devices with the old connector. I also tried the adapter for the Lightening connector, without success. Might be a software issue as well. I doubt very much that HD will focus on older bike technology. Good luck.

    Battery drain

    • Answer:
No battery drain. The interface cuts power to the iPod when you turn the bike off.

    Ipod Nano

    • Answer:
Hey anvil, It's really hard to trouble shoot through Q&A, just making sure that you have installed connector kit required P/N 69200033. If that's not the issue, I would have your dealer's Service Dept. have a look and call Tech Services for support.
