Would be great, if they made it correctly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought one, it arrived at the dealership a few days later, got it home and started to install the timing cover before I installed the camshaft cover and found out that the threads hadn’t been tapped in the 5 timer cover screws. Not a big deal, it happens. Apparently it happens more often than once though as the replacement came in with the same issue. read more.

    • Since it will not let me edit or delete the review, I will comment on it. The holes are not drilled from the factory, and you need to use the STOCK "self tapping screws" to cut the threads into the holes. There were no instructions in the box (its a cover, SHOULD be straight forward to install...) stating that the STOCK screws need to be installed to cut the threads and then install the cover. MANY people at the dealership didn't know this and it ended up causing issues. It's rare that a new cam cover is installed these days. A learning experience for a lot of us. I WOULD recommend this product, but would only give it 3 stars due to the lack of instructions about the self tapping screws.

What is the hole in the cover for? Factory 14 SG doesnt have one.
    Richard21 - Peoria, IL
    • Answer:
Hi Richard21, The Chrome Cam Cover hole is the cam position sensor. Not all motorcycles have this particular hole available--between 1999 to 2000 may have this part. Thanks!
